We just got back from an incredible camping trip to Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. This post is about our time there as a family and to provide the information you need to have a fantastic trip and camping experience!

Utah Elk Hunting October 2021
Another epic elk hunting trip in Utah with a good friend came to a close last week. While we didn’t tag out, I learned some very good lessons about elk hunting in high elevations that I can definitely apply to the local opportunity in the PNW.
There’s also some extremely useful gear I discovered that I will share about as well.
Hells Gate State Park Camping May 2021
Hells Gate State Park near Lewiston, Idaho is an incredible place to camp. The surrounding area has limitless outdoor recreation possibilities.
Hiking, boating, fishing, and everything in between. We showed up in mid-May for a Mother’s Day camping trip with our RV and were quite pleased with the campsite and all the sites and experiences around Lewiston, ID.

RV Camping Ocean Shores August 2020
The beaches north of Grays Harbor such as Ocean Shores and further north to Copalis are incredible places to explore, hike, and experience. Because these are a few hours away though, you need a good base of operations, and the Driftwood RV Resort and Campground near Copalis provided just such a place.
Camping Scenic Beach State Park July 2020
There are so many reasons to camp near Hood Canal. The scenery is pretty awesome for one. We camped at “Scenic Beach State Park”, it is aptly named as the view across the canal to the Olympic Mountains is just incredible.
Camping near Mt Rainier National Park July 2020
Mt Rainier National Park is a must-visit destination within the Pacific Northwest.
We had an incredible experience camping at Elkamp (recently renamed from Eastcreek Campground just south of Elbe. We spent some time in Mt Rainier National Park to do some sightseeing and hiking, but also just relaxed and explored around the campground. Elkamp was an excellent, well-maintained private campground that we will definitely be returning to in the future.
RV Camping near Aberdeen WA
With several consecutive outstanding razor clam tides on the coast, we wanted to stay a few nights at an RV Park near Aberdeen WA. We ended up finding Hoquiam River RV Park after a brief search.
Sekiu and Port Angeles Salmon Fishing July 2019
Have you ever wanted to make a trip to fish for Salmon in the Strait? Fishing in early July in the interior of Puget Sound can be good, but it also can be a grind-it-out affair as we wait for the bulk of the run to make its way inland.
Why not go to where the fish are? We will attempt to share everything we learned from our 3-day trip out west that might help you have a successful trip fishing the Strait for salmon in early July.
Jones Island State Park Camping May 2019
Just the trip through the San Juan Islands by boat on the way to Jones Island Marine State Park fills your cup for adventure and serene beauty.
The islands have always held a magical quality to me, in that I get really excited just being there. We camped on Jones Island for three nights and in this blog post, hope to cover enough to convince you that this is a must do camping experience, and how to do it successfully.
Camping near North Cascades National Park
North Cascades National Park is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever experienced. A drive through the park along Highway 20 is a must, but camping for a few nights is necessary to really take it all in.
We camped near the western-themed town of Winthrop in the Methow Valley in May with some incredible early spring weather.
