My 2021 Elk Hunting Season is over…

With my 2021 elk hunting season now being over, I get to write about and share some of the many lessons learned and stories from the woods. I know I basically didn’t touch the blog or YouTube channel during this period as I was trying to balance being in the woods, family obligations and joys of having a new puppy in the house.

Another epic elk hunting trip in Utah with a good friend came to a close last week. While we didn’t tag out, I learned some very good lessons about elk hunting in high elevations that I can definitely apply to the local opportunity in the PNW.

2021 Draft / Proposed Puget Sound Salmon Seasons

We are now within a week or so from getting the final 2021 Puget Sound Salmon Seasons, and based on what’s in the proposed / draft version, it’s mostly good news for the summer salmon season, though 2022 Blackmouth is still a problem.

Sekiu Fishing for Blackmouth and Ling March 2021

We recently got back from a trip to Sekiu in the middle of March 2021 where we fished for blackmouth and bottom fish like lingcod, cabezon, and black rockfish (sea bass).

The entire trip was incredible from start to finish. If you have a few days to get away to Sekiu, it’s a must-visit fishing destination when the season is going. Let’s get to the trip details!
