2021 Salmon seasons are now finalized as the North of Falcon process which determines the sport fishing seasons working with the tribes, concludes.

Marine Area 5 (Sekiu) is currently open until April 30th for hatchery chinook. Marine Area 13 is the only place to fish for hatchery chinook in May. Starting in June and into July, the opportunity expands considerably, see the details below.

This week was a mixed bag for many anglers fishing for salmon in Puget Sound. There are kings rounding the corner and coming in, but success has been scattered over multiple locations and techniques.

As I mentioned in last week’s report, there is so much bait between the Strait and Sound, that these salmon are in no hurry. Let’s dig in!

Mt Rainier National Park is a must-visit destination within the Pacific Northwest.

We had an incredible experience camping at Elkamp (recently renamed from Eastcreek Campground just south of Elbe. We spent some time in Mt Rainier National Park to do some sightseeing and hiking, but also just relaxed and explored around the campground. Elkamp was an excellent, well-maintained private campground that we will definitely be returning to in the future.
