Skagit River Spring Chinook Fishing 2023

Beautiful-skagit-river

The Skagit River is home to a thriving run of Spring Chinook salmon each year, prized for their delicious flavor. With 80% of the freshwater dumped into the Puget Sound originating from the Skagit, it’s no surprise that there are plenty of opportunities for anglers to land some fish. Anglers can utilize bank fishing areas or explore further upriver where the water flow is les.

Each week, the below graph will be updated with the Skagit river spring Chinook escapement numbers as reported by the hatchery. Escapement numbers are a good indication of when the “run is in” and when it may be time to head down to the river, when one can expect plenty of Skagit river spring chinook to be present.
