My friends and I jumped on a jet boat to toss spinners and twitch jigs on the Chehalis River for late fall coho with outstanding fishing experienced all day. Of course we had the usual fishing trip shenanigans and goofy stuff...Give it a watch if you want a chuckle or two! The big news update for the week is the Stilly opening for late coho and razor clams not expected to re-open anytime soon. We get into the data by focussing on the coho update, we are near the end as some rivers will get a steady trickle of fish throughout early winter, but can still provide excellent fishing as we discovered. Minter Creek had a big push of chum into the hatchery and not much to report on the Steelhead escapement, but this is the week that the regulations will be revealed for our coastal steelhead season. We finish by covering the harvest recreation opportunity we are thinking about and how the weather may impact things. It's quite possible that late next week it will be challenging to travel due to snow and frozen roads. I'm planning to spend as much time as I can in the woods to fill a tag and collect as many golden chanterelles as I can. MA10 crab and squid is a solid bet right now from a boat. If you hit MA11, stay on the northern end and more towards Vashon. I also share what's new with the PNWBestLife merch situation. I still have bumper stickers available, drop me a comment / email if you want one. Let us know what you liked, what we can do to improve and your own ideas for harvest recreation opportunities this week.
